Older kitchens would have counter tops along the periphery of the kitchen. This is the old design and at the same time, they are also much harder to work with as space is often limited in these areas. Instead of having a kitchen table in the middle, a kitchen island is much more suitable for working and cooking. This is because you can cut, chop and do other things on an island as opposed to a kitchen table. Most people won’t even eat at a kitchen table if they have a separate dining table. Because of this, it is a much better idea to have a kitchen island where you can work in, and eat at the dinner table. With this, you can improve the usage of your kitchen by getting rid of a kitchen table that basically just takes up space.
