Respecting the Sentiments of an Old Man

A few months ago, when Martina visited her dad at their hometown, she noticed a box beside his dad's bed. While she was waiting for her dad to wake up, she managed to open the box to see what was inside. She saw a cell phone. It wasn't exactly new nor did it look expensive, but for some reasons, Martina just fell in love with it. So when her dad woke up, she did not waste any more time and she immediately asked him if he could just give the phone to her. Her dad refused, saying "I would rather that you buy a brand new phone. You see, I actually encounter a problem with nokia 5800. And I tell you, you wouldn't like it, really." Eventually, Martina found out that the phone was her late mom's last present for her dad. That explains his unwillingness to give it away. Martina's dad is keeping the phone for sentimental reasons. Of course, Martina did not insist because she knew that doing so would surely break his dad's heart.
