Need to know how to obtain some music

I am trying to find a way to take audio samples from the net. I have seen a music video on youtube and it is the only place i can actually find it. I am trying to find a way to rip the audio from the video file but so far i have not figured it out. I googled how do i rip audio from youtube but it was not really much help because it looks like it actually cannot be done. The next idea was to download the video to my hard drive and then find a separate program to split the file and seperate the audio file from it. I did have concerns though about whether it would be in the right format or not though, ideally i wanted it in mp3 but i knew that might be a bit much to ask. I again went to searching online for some help but it seems realy hard to pin down some solid info on this, so far i have a few bits of info to work off.
